The faint circulation of Tropical Storm Danny can be seen just after it formed from a tropical wave on Wednesday.
Tropical Storm Danny formed on Wednesday from a tropical wave that quickly developed a closed circulation to the east of the Bahamas.
Danny had its origins as a wave of low pressure that blew off the coast of Africa during the previous week.
Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami projected that the storm could attain hurricane force by the weekend.
It could then skirt Cape Cod before ploughing into Atlantic Canada as a Category 1 storm on Monday.
