Tropical Storm Ignacio at the height of its itensity early Wednesday, spinning to the west of Cabo San Lucas.
The ninth named storm of the eastern Pacific's hurricane season formed from an area of disturbed weather off the Mexican mainland over the weekend.
Maximum sustained winds near the center of Tropical Storm Ignacio peaked at about 50 mph early Wednesday about 815 miles west of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California.
The storm was a threat only to shipping lanes until it lost force over cooler Pacific waters to the north.
