Tropical Storm Bavi Churns Western Pacific October 24, 2008
The central circulation around the subtropical remnant of Tropical Storm Bavi was barely visible in this satellite loop from early Tuesday.
Maritime traffic in the far western Pacific was warned about high seas and storm-force winds due to the passage of Tropical Storm Bavi on Monday.

The minimal tropical storm formed about 500 miles (800 km) east of Tokyo over the weekend, then began to accelerate to the northeast very quickly on Monday.

It eventually lost all tropical characteristics and became absorbed in the general middle latitude circulation across the North Pacific on Tuesday.

No land areas were directly affected by Bavi's winds or rainfall.
