Weak and disorganized Cyclone 03B can be seen swirling just off Somalia's northeasetern coast.
An area of disturbed weather gathering off the northeastern tip of Somalia organized into Tropical Cyclone 03B late Sunday evening local time.
The slowly moving system attained only storm force winds, but it brought locally heavy rain around the Gulf of Aden, especially across the Horn of Africa in Somalia.
Early Wednesday, the center of 03B passed directly over the Yemen island of Socotra, just outside the Gulf of Aden, as the storm slowly began to weaken.
Remnants of the former cyclone eventually spun out over southern Yemen on Thursday.
The storm was mainly a hazard to maritime traffic in the busy shipping lanes that pass through the Red Sea and northwestern Indian Ocean.
