Tropical Storm Hanna Douses Atlantic Seaboard September 12, 2008
Tropical Storm Hanna making landfall on the Carolina coast and losing force to the north.
Residents in the Carolinas and Virginia breathed a sigh of relief after Tropical Storm Hanna hit the region far weaker than the hurricane force predicted a few days earlier.

Heavy rains fell along the Eastern Seaboard from South Carolina to New England, then Atlantic Canada received a final dousing before the storm lost force off Newfoundland.

No significant damage or injuries were reported across the entire region affected by Hanna's passing.
