Tropical Storm Edouard Fizzles In Texas August 8, 2008
Radar loop shows Edouard spinning down after making landfall on the Texas Gulf Coast.
Tropical Storm Edouard caused light damage and flooding as it moved ashore from the Gulf of Mexico near the Texas-Louisiana border.

Remnants of the storm later brought beneficial rainfall to central and northern parts of Texas.

Forecasters had initially feared Edouard could become a hurricane, prompting officials in both Texas and Louisiana to make emergency preparations for a Category-1 storm.

But winds never reached hurricane strength of 74 mph (119 km/h) before the storm made landfall on Tuesday morning.
